Halloween

Benjamin got the concept of trick or treating this year for Halloween and he loved it. Benjamin dressed up as a golfer and Sarah was a pumpkin. We got them both dressed with the intention of taking them trick or treating in the neighborhood and to our church's fall festival. Sarah got dressed up, took some pictures and was ready to go to sleep. She stayed home with Nana and Granddaddy and greeted trick or treaters that came to our house. Benjamin put on his golf outfit and was bouncing off the walls. He was so excited. It was still light outside at 6pm, so we went to church first. He played a bunch of games, but the best part was that he loved going up and down the inflatable slide without Mommy and Daddy. After having lots of fun at church and going down the slide many, many times, we headed home to go trick or treating. We just went to the homes in our neighborhood. Benjamin would not say trick or treat, but he would either point to his pumpkin bag or put it closer to the person at the door. He did always say thank you when someone gave him some candy. He wasn't interested in talking to the neighbors or staying at someone's house too long. He kept saying, "get more candy, get more candy." It was pretty funny.

Potty Training

It seems when you have kids, you are on a constant adventure. We are in the adventure of potty training right now. We have been working on Benjamin for a while now about using the potty. When I first bought the fun Elmo and Thomas the tank engine underwear and Elmo potty, he was so excited about it. He would run around the house dancing in his underwear and sit on and actually go pee-pee in his potty, but would always want to put his diapers back on. After Sarah was born, he didn't want anything to do with underwear or sitting on the potty anymore. We never stop asking him though. He started wearing his underwear again last week and then on Tuesday of this week, he didn't want to put his diapers back on. It was not the ideal time to start potty training because he had a Halloween parade at preschool on Thursday, trick or treating on Friday and his birthday party on Saturday. We have had our share of battles and accidents, but he has also earned lots of stickers and candy.

Sarah's 3 month Pictures

I know I have been slack at blogging, but here are some pictures of Sarah at 3 months. We are having her picture taken every month like we did with Benjamin. Babies change so much the first year, so we want to make sure to not miss it. Sarah did achieve a major milestone tonight. She rolled from her stomach to her back. She had a little smirk on her face like she knew she really accomplished something. It was very cute.

Sarah's 2 month Pictures

I took Sarah to have her 2 month pictures taken today. She did a great job and smiled beautifully. You can see some of my favorites below. I can't believe she is already 2 months old. It is already going by way too fast.

Daddy and Monnie, Pacifiers and Preschool

Benjamin has given Geoff and me new names. He has always called us "dada" and "mama," but we are now "daddy" and "monnie." We are not sure why he doesn't say the second part of mommy with a "m" instead of a "n." We do think it is adorable though.

A couple of weekends ago, we decided it was past time for Benjamin to give up his pacifier. We should have done it a year ago, but I guess we didn't want to deal with it. His lip had a sore on it that would not go away, so we knew we had to get rid of the pacifier. We told Benjamin that Santa Claus was coming to pick up his pacifiers and take them away and that he leave him a present. Benjamin was really excited about getting a present, but I don't think he realized that it meant his pacifiers were gone for good. Considering what we have been through the past couple weeks, Sarah will have her pacifiers taken away a lot sooner than we did Benjamin.

Benjamin started preschool a little over a week ago. I was a little worried about him going to preschool because he hasn't been away from us very much. Consequently, he cried quite a bit on the first day. He still cried the last two times I took him, but he only cried for 2 minutes on Thursday. He has a great time and tells me all about it. He told me on Thursday that he has a girlfriend named Anna. It starts way too soon!!

Sarah is getting so big. She will be 2 months old on Monday and I can't believe it. It is going by way too fast. She has been giving us some big smiles and cooing at us all the time. She is really starting to be so much fun. I would enjoy it if she would sleep more at night, but that will come.

I am finally back online after my hard drive crashed. I was thankful to have a husband that is so computer savvy and able to recover my music, documents, most of my e-mails and most importantly, my pictures. I have felt very out of touch without being able to check my e-mails and view my pictures when I wanted to.
I can't believe that Sarah is already 6 weeks old. These past 6 weeks have been a blur, but we are enjoying being the parents of a precious little girl and boy.

Getting ready to go to sleep

We have been home a few days from the hospital with our little Sarah. She is adorable and we are enjoying her very much. I didn't think I could possibly find it in my heart to love another child as much as I love Benjamin, but it is amazing to me how fast I have fallen in love with this little girl. Speaking of Benjamin, he is adjusting very well to Sarah. He wants her with or near him all the time. When she is asleep in another room, he wants to go check on her and give her kisses. He also tells her to get up and come in the room where he is. It is very sweet.
